Secto-led consortium expands across Europe

The automotive consortium launched and led by Secto Automotive is expanding into new countries. The consortium now comprises 6 independent leasing and fleet companies operating in 8 countries and managing a combined total of more than 55,000 vehicles. At the same time, the collaboration is extending beyond joint procurement into other areas. For customers, the expansion means local service combined with the benefits of international scale.

Secto founded the consortium in spring 2026 with Norway’s Autoplan and Estonia-based Mobire, which operates across the Baltics, and leads its activities as chair. Together, the founding members managed a fleet of around 35,000 vehicles in five countries, and the consortium has already completed its first joint tenders successfully.

The consortium has now been joined by Denmark’s Fleggaard Leasing, Serbia’s AKS Fleet Solution and Ireland’s Mahony Fleet. With the expansion, the consortium’s fleet has grown to more than 55,000 vehicles, with plans for further growth.

“The idea behind the consortium is simple: together we are a bigger buyer, but each member retains full independence in its own market. The expansion further strengthens our economies of scale and our position in negotiations with suppliers. The biggest beneficiaries are our member companies’ customers,” says Jarno Pajunen, Director, Sourcing & Consultation, Secto Automotive.

Local service, global scale

The consortium’s members are strong local players in their own markets. The collaboration brings their customers the benefits of international scale – more competitive pricing, a wider range of services and more efficient processes – while preserving the companies’ local, personal service. For internationally operating customers, the growing network offers reliable local partners in an increasing number of countries.

“A Northern European procurement consortium has become a pan-European fleet consortium. Our customers will continue to receive the same familiar local service, but now backed by an ever-stronger European network,” Pajunen says.

New international opportunities for suppliers

The consortium also benefits suppliers. The leasing industry has consolidated sharply in recent years, and as the number of large players has fallen, suppliers’ sales channels have narrowed as well. Through the consortium, suppliers gain access to an entirely new pool of international customers.

“Feedback from suppliers in the first tenders has been extremely positive. With a single negotiation, a supplier reaches a customer base across several countries. In a consolidated market, that is very welcome,” Pajunen says.

Secto’s international growth accelerates

The consortium is a key part of Secto Automotive’s growth strategy, which combines the use of technology, personal service and partnership building. Next, the collaboration will be extended to areas such as motoring-related services and vehicle procurement. The collaboration is supported by an AI-powered operating model developed by Secto, which speeds up data analysis and scenario building based on real-time data.

“We are Finland’s second-largest buyer of cars, but as part of a European consortium, entirely new doors are opening for us. We are growing and internationalising rapidly, and this directly benefits our leasing and company car customers through our service offering, pricing and efficiency,” says Markus Vuolle, CEO of Secto Automotive.

“Founding the consortium was the first step, and its growth into a European fleet consortium the second. But this is only the beginning: we will be announcing more new members.”
